I’ve dragged Virgil Abloh before for his lackluster clothing line yet I was really close to buying an Off-White wallet cause it was on sale.  But when Virgil posted on IG, his lack of support for the protesting of the murder of George Floyd, I had to take his wallet outta my cart. He gave a measly $50 contribution to Fempower, a Miami-based organization providing bail money to jailed protesters.

He had to backtrack with a post on Instagram saying that he donated over $20,000 to jailed protesters previously.

He should have led with that.

These brands need to get it together. They take our money yet they don’t care about us. They barely want us wearing their clothes but they use our aesthetic. White girls wearing braids will never not look like they just came back from a Jamaica vacation no matter the theme of the photoshoot or the clothes.

Below, you will find a detailed list of brands and their responses to #BlackLivesMatter. It’s in alphabetical order and categorized by beauty or non-beauty brands and showcases brand’s response to the murder of George Floyd.
